Everyone who wants to audition will get a chance and we won’t leave until everyone auditions. The production will need a cast of at least 32 with room for extra parts if we need them.

PARENTS: Youth Theatre would not be possible with you.  I will need help behind the scenes with costumes, props, sets and stage managers. If you can volunteer your time to make this the best production ever please indicate it on the audition form. This is great way for families in the Carroll area to work on a project together.

Still crazy after all these years......

Yep. Why? because after a long absence ( I would say it's been at least 18 years) I have resumed the mantle of "Director" of the Carroll Youth Theatre. This is a program that I started when I was a junior in highschool. The orginal idea behind youth theatre was that all the kids who participated would be involved in all aspects of the play. Not just acting. There is more to producing a play than memorizing lines. I will be returning the program to its roots and these kids will learn a lot.

So- this summer I will be directing a delightful play written by Jeannette Jaquish called (drum roll please)

Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice

It is a parody based on the works by JK Rowling. I have a copy of the script and I have read it and it is brilliant! I am a huge Harry potter fan....

Harry is once again locked in his room where Dobby & an inebriated Winky come to him with a warning to save not his life but at least his career. At Hogwarts things are weirder than ever, Snape is furious at Ron's spilled potion, Hagrid doesn't think Harry''s "hearing voices" thing is funny, Dumbledore has lost his meal ticket, Malfoy has a fancy-schmancy new "mission", time is twisting, the house elves battle Peeves and whisper about "The Master".

All the details about auditions will be found in the Rec Center's Summer Program booklet which will come out in late March.
